I created this guide while taking apart a Sony Vaio PCG-K25 model but I think you can use the following disassembly steps for all models in the PCG-K line.

Before you start the disassembly process unplug the AC adapter and remove the battery. STEP 8 After the cover has been removed, you can access and clean both cooling fans. STEP 9 Remove two screws securing the display hinges to the back side of the base.

Using a small screwdriver press on the locking latch above the Insert key and lift up the right side of the keyboard. Do the same with the second latch and lift up the keyboard from the laptop base. Place the keyboard upside down on the palm rest so you can access the cable connector underneath. In order to unlock the cable connector move the black clip about 2 millimeters towards the touch pad. If you break the connector, you’ll have to remove the motherboard.

Set external drive booting active, save bios, restart. Boot the Mint Linux into mode 3 (compatibility mode or sthng like that in English).STEP 1 Carefully remove the keyboard bezel using a small flathead screwdriver. STEP 10 Remove four screws securing display hinges. Unplug both wireless card antenna cables from the wireless card. Remove four screws securing the hard drive caddy to the base assembly. Remove it slowly, there is a flat ribbon cable connecting the power button board with the motherboard. The red arrow pointing to the connector on the motherboard. In one of the next guides I explains how to replace LCD screen with inverter. STEP 12 Remove the hard drive cover, memory cover and modem cover from the bottom. Slide the hard drive down to disconnect it from the motherboard. On the picture below the connector is shown in the unlocked state. Release the touch pad cable and remove the palm rest assembly. There is an adapter between the DVD drive and motherboard. If you would like to replace the CMOS battery, simply unplug it from the motherboard and replace with a new one. In order to unlock the connector simply lift up the right side of the locking clip with your finger nail. Slid the DVD drive to the right to disconnect it from the motherboard. In order to remove the wireless card, disconnect two antenna cable from the card, remove two screws securing the card and pull the card from the slot on the motherboard.
